ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES: Skiing Madrid SnowZone indoor ski slope Madrid SnowZone is the name boasted by the only indoor ski slope in Spain, located in Madrid’s Xanadú shopping centre. It consists of two very different slopes, a main one for experts and another one for beginners. The temperature is controlled at -2º so that we actually find natural snow; a perfect setting for practicing snow sports. Its modern system of ski lifts is made up of chair lift with four seats, a ski lift for the main slope, as well as a mat and a ski lift for the beginners’ slope. It also has a learning area with over 400 pieces of equipment available and its own ski school and EEE qualified instructors. The brand name is owned by the Intrawest company, a world leader in holiday resorts and adventure tourism. The company is present in 10 of the most popular mountain destinations of North America, including Whistler Blackcomb, host of the Winter Olympics in 2010.
