Milk was the creation of two Irish couples originating from California who decided to open a modern and elegant alternative in the heart of the Ciutat Vella. Milk cultivates its stylish design with a striking combination of painstakingly restored furniture, soft flowing colours, and an exquisite collection of ambient and chill-out music. The attending public is mainly young, and most come to socialize in the comfortable lounge-type sofas. The motto here is quality and close attention; both characteristics that they have managed to excel at. The creative cocktail menu offers some amazing specialities, such as the Porn Star Martini- made with vanilla vodka, or the Passoã- prepared with passion fruit.

Their huge windows allow for observation of the action going on from the outside, and invites passers-by to sample from their nutritional menu of tea’s and infusions as well as their home-made “mojitos” (crushed ice, spearmint, lime, syrup, rum, and club soda) and “caipirinhas” (traditional Brazilian drink made with cachaca and lime). Once inside, the walls are filled with a colourful collection of photography, cinema cycles and works by local visual-artists. It is clear to see how Borneo has become a Must-see on the Born night circuit; as much for its cocktails as for its calm and multi-coloured atmosphere that does not exceed the age of thirty.
