This beautiful city is built up along the banks of the Guadalquivir river. Its origins are not clearly determined; perhaps three thousand years back this ancient, large city was just beginning to develop. From the time of the Tartessos civilization to the present day, Seville has lived under the influence of the Romans, the Visgoths, the Muslims and the Christians, an important point of confluence for traffic coming from both the sea and the land. Named Hispalis by the Romans and Isbiliya by the Muslims, it retains beautiful testimonies of both cultures. Local Guide
